Topic:
Our focus for this event will be on Innovation in Mental Health. There will be a panel discussion on the cutting edge technology being deployed in behavioral health as well as company demos of the latest technologies in this space.
We’ll also be kicking off our HTF Global Health Initiative called experiMental and will be looking for collaborators in the mental health area.
Speakers
Jonathan Sockell : Jon is a technology entrepreneur who leads marketing at Limbix (http://limbix.com/). Previously he worked in marketing leadership roles at KeepTruckin and Medallia. Jon has a BA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. His hobbies include golf, travel, Warriors basketball, and scrabble.
Dr. Sharon Niv: Karuna co-founder and chief scientist Sharon Niv earned her Ph.D. in Brain Cognitive Science at the University of Southern California. Her interests are the development of novel behavioral and psychological therapeutic approaches using new technologies. She co-founded Karuna Labs in late 2016 as a novel approach to using virtual reality in order to produce cortical reprogramming associated with relief of pain and other neurological symptoms.
Fangwei Lee: REALITEER’s founder and CEO, Fangwei Lee, has twenty years of technology and animation experiences. After completion of his Psychology degree, he studied Computer Science in Carnegie Mellon University with Prof. Randy Pausch, author of The Last Lecture. At DreamWorks, he led the VFX team to produce 8 AAA featured films including: Shrek, Madagascar, and How to Train Your Dragon series. He has nominated Annie Awards for “Best Animated Effects” and “Outstanding Achievement in Animated Effects in an Animated Production”.
Gabriel Shapiro: Gabe is a senior associate in our Silicon Valley office and represents acquirers, targets, and their stakeholders in complex domestic and cross-border merger and acquisition transactions, and joint ventures, with a focus on the technology sector. Mr. Shapiro also advises emerging companies with respect to the intersection of corporate, commercial and securities law issues with distributed ledger and blockchain technologies.
