Healthtech Innovation QLD is pleased to announce our first Series A Investment Pitch Event , featuring four startups from across QLD that are actively raising capital to continue building / scaling their companies.
This event will bring together investors, entrepreneurs, healthcare leaders and experts across IT, Finance, Business, Engineering within the wider health technology community to facilitate connections, and support in scaling these innovative QLD based businesses.
The pitch event will consist of 10-15 min pitches from each of the startups followed by audience Q&A, networking & pre-christmas celebrations with food & drinks sponsored by Prime.
The companies and speakers presenting at the event are detailed below:
Cardihab - CEO Helen Souris
Cardihab is a clinically validated digital cardiac rehabilitation SaaS offering that was spun out of the CSIRO in 2017. The service is delivered via healthcare professionals (eg cardiologists, nurses etc) who develop care plans for patient via a clinician portal. The tailored care plans are then delivered to patients via a smartphone app. The offering is a clinicians tool as opposed to a wellness platform, and has evidence of delivering superior outcomes vs traditional models of care. Cardihab has the potential to be the leading digital model of care by 2025, with customers to date including Medibank Private and the Queensland Cardiovascular Group.
Precise Light Surgical - Co Founder & CEO Ken Arnold
Precise Light Surgical has developed a cutting technology that does not cut or injure nerves, addressing a multibillion-dollar market opportunity for the elimination of nerve injury occurring during surgery. For example, thyroid surgery without the high risk of voice problems or prostate surgery without the high risk of impotence. Precise Light has an experienced team with an outstanding track record. Regulatory clearances include; TGA, FDA and CE. Precise Light has an innovative surgical technology with a dozen issued patents and more pending and is seeking funding to support post market studies in Australia around multiple nerve sparing applications.
Augmented Bionics - Co Founder & CEO Viraj Agnihotri
Augmented Bionics is developing devices that allow non-invasive stimulation of nerves. Their product is an alternative to cochlear implants that provides a convenient solution to people with profound hearing loss without the need of surgery. The company has graduated from the iLab Accelerator and the Medtech Actuator programs and has raised its seed capital from Artesian Alternative Investments. They are currently looking to raise their series A funding to complete the first clinical trial."
Bioinduction - Founder Ivor Gilbe
Bioinduction aims to build upon the clinically proven use of implantable electrical stimulation of the brain as the gold-standard surgical treatment for late-stage Parkinson’s disease, and to adapt this technology to treat cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative diseases where there is no effective drug therapy today.
