What we're about

Welcome to the Hell's Kitchen Poetry Society, where we'll be cooking up new work every week! Drop-ins are welcome- come when you can make it.

Each week we will critique 2 poems (one each from two different poets who sign up ahead of time), and then participate in one writing exercise with optional sharing. This group is meant for poets to give feedback to each other in a supportive environment. No matter our writing level or publication credits, we are all peers, and we can help each other develop our craft.

The moderator, Sarah T. Jewell, has been moderating weekly poetry workshops for over 3 years. She has experience working with poets who have earned MFAs, poets who have gone on to be accepted into MFA programs, and even ESL and autistic poets. She is the author of the chapbook, How to Break Your Own Heart (dancing girl press), and also a past winner of The Writer's Hotel Sara Patton Poetry Stipend (June 2018). She looks forward to meeting you and discussing your work!
