What we're about

Welcome to the Hell's Kitchen Poetry Society, where we'll be cooking up new work every week! Drop-ins are welcome- come when you can make it.

Each week we will critique 2-3 poems (one each from two or three different poets who sign up ahead of time by emailing Sarah - stjewell@gmail.com ), and then participate in one writing exercise with optional sharing. This group is meant for poets to give feedback to each other in a supportive environment. No matter our writing level or publication credits, we are all peers, and we can help each other develop our craft.

The moderator, Sarah T. Jewell, has been moderating weekly poetry workshops for over 3 years. She is the author of the chapbook, How to Break Your Own Heart (dancing girl press), and also a past winner of The Writer's Hotel Sara Patton Poetry Stipend (June 2018).

Participants will be asked to make a suggested contribution of $5 each week you attend to help support venue costs.

A special thanks goes out to The Artist Co-op (where we meet for workshop), a co-working space for artists, offering programs and services to support the arts community. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes early for poetry workshop. Use of the facility is limited to our assigned room during the workshop, from 7pm - 9pm only, unless you join as a member, starting at only $60/ month, or $20 per day. For more information about membership in The Artist Co-op, see their website: http://www.theartistco-op.com/memberships
