Disappointed when too much CPU is used, causing hard work to halt at deployment? Concerned you might be using a base container with known vulnerabilities — or with being held responsible for an excessive budget while deploying services? Modern software development adopts a no-ops approach where the team accepts responsibility for managing application dependencies by using Infrastructure-as-Code. Policy and compliance management, historically implemented by operations and security teams after development had been completed, is now being "pushed left" to the teams. This presentation will discuss how your organization can use best practices to create distributed policy management, allowing those decisions to be made programmatically throughout the entire SDLC. This process results in fast-feedback that avoids both expensive deployment halts and exposure once code has been sent to production.

What you will learn?
* What are policies and why do you need them?
* Challenges in existing policy enforcement
* Some commonly implemented policies
* How to introduce "Fast Feedback" for infrastructure policy compliance
* Cover Your A*# by adopting a distributed policy decision engine
