What we're about

Meet other people interested in learning about herbs for natural healing and health while learning about the healing herbs themselves.

Occasionally, workshops are offered teaching about various aspects of herbal healing and remedy making. Class fees vary according to the class. See calendar and individual work shops for details and fees.

All classes are taught by Kristine Brown, Traditional Community Herbalist

Library lectures are free, Luna Farm labs will have a fee of $25/person. Prepay for the entire year and receive a $50 discount.

The following is a tentative schedule for the year. Actual systems may be switched around a bit to make the series flow better. Please note we are switching to the 1st & 3rd Wednesday instead of the 2nd & 4th Wednesday with the exception of June.

Please note meetings at the farm have been suspended until we finish with our home renovations post fire.

I'm excited to be returning to the library for classes each month! This year our meetings to be a more informal gathering and sharing of knowledge. Each month we'll have a discussion on a topic but I would like everyone to bring what they know to the discussion. New to herbs? No problem, join in and learn from everyone! Please bring your stories, experiences, questions, ideas and recipes to share. This month we'll be discussing late wintertime herbs and health as well as herbal selections for the upcoming day of love! What herbs do you especially like during this time of year? How do you use them? What remedies are you making? Are there new ways of preparing herbs that you are excited to try this year? My hopes is that this discussion will leave you feeling like you know more about herbs than you previously felt you did by sharing your own personal experiences. I'll be bringing my own stories and recipes to share but I'd love to hear what everyone else has to offer as well! If you have a favorite herb book, bring it along to share. Found a plant in your yard and you're not sure what it is? Bring it in to see if we can identify it.
