July Tech Fest: Disrupt Yourself

Business and technology disruption is all around us. But what are we all doing to change the way we are doing things or the way we are approaching our careers?

PWC will be our premier sponsor, and as such will be hosting the event as well as providing the food, beer and wine. They will also have staff there to help us all with any job search questions we have, such as resume skills, interviewing tips, networking advice, and understanding how to navigate career searching in the tech industry. In addition PWC will also be discussing their growth in the tech space and the many positions they are staffing now and in the future. If you have noticed the new PWC tower being built next to their existing office, you already understand the growth trajectory they are on.

We are fortunate to have Joel Beasley join us as a speaker. Joel hosts the very successful Modern CTO podcast as well as runs LeaderBits, which helps grow individuals into leaders. Joel will be discussing what IT leaders are looking for in candidates today, and what we can all do to help improve ourselves and grow into tomorrow's leaders.

Another speaker is Arathi Ramappa, a certified executive coach, entrepreneur, and consultant with twenty years of experience in business and technology management. Arathi conducts one-on-one coaching and emotional intelligence workshops to organizations. Using the concepts of emotional intelligence, self-compassion, and mindfulness, Arathi has helped clients start businesses, develop leadership skills, diminish conflict, implement positive behaviors, and increase confidence and productivity.

Our third speaker is Jessica Hurley. Jessica is the founder of a podcast management agency named Instapodcasts where she and her team launch and manage podcasts for busy entrepreneurs. She is a former TEDx speaker, host of the popular podcast The Stranded, and is considered the "Podcast Launch Queen" in the online space. Most importantly, Jessica is the mother of a resilient two year old and the fiance to another crazy entrepreneur.

Suncoast Developers Guild will be joining us for this event, and is dedicated to providing those seeking an education in software development with the technical and soft skills they need to pursue rewarding careers as programmers. They also seek to promote a sense of community among local technology organizations, supporting members in a way that strengthens our community and promotes the common good.

New Horizons Computer Learning Centers will also be a sponsor, and is the world's largest independent IT training company. In addition to their training offerings, they also provide free webinars and some great learning blogs.
