Probably "The Singapore Grip" by JG Farrell, set in 1941 as the Japanese advance down Malaya. its got the right mix of humour, plot, tragedy and facts to keep me interested. I re-read it every 10 years. I like Terry Pratchett's Discworld series and generally like historically-set fiction or science fiction- but I'm open to try something new
Only about one a month now- as I commute by car instead of train I have less time to read than before. I'm also running out of space!
Hi, I'm Richard, and have been living in High Wycombe, and I'm interested in meeting people locally and widening my interests.
