What we're about

Is this you?

• Do you feel fundamentally flawed?

• Do you get easily overwhelmed in uncertain or unfamiliar environments?

• Are you conscientious and have a strong sense of justice?

• As a child were you considered shy or introverted?

Welcome! Before you join us please note this group is for HSP ( Highly Sensitive Person ) by taking the self test developed by Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D. https://hsperson.com/test/highly-sensitive-test/ . This is the only qualification to join us.

Our primary purpose is to facilitate social connections for highly sensitive people in and around the Passaic/Bergen County area. Group activities, will be for socializing and are meant to be fun, educational, encouraging, and inspiring for all highly sensitive people, empaths, and intuitive personality types.

According to Dr. Elaine Aron, PhD, 15% to 20% of the population is "highly sensitive" or has what is called Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS). If you are a highly sensitive person (HSP) this means you process things more deeply, take in more details, and often operate in life using a "pause to check" system. Dr. Aron has studied and pioneered what we know today about highly sensitive people. HSPs have a genetic characteristic that allows them process sensory input more deeply than others; it is not a disorder. HSPs tend to be more empathic and conscientious. However, they can also get easily overstimulated then require recovery time or "down time." There is also a self-test to help you determine whether your child shares this trait ( https://hsperson.com/test/highly-sensitive-child-test/ ).

HSP/SPS is found in males and females alike. HSP has been scientifically documented in both humans and animals. Although introverted personality

My hope is to create a network of highly sensitive individuals who can enjoy life to its fullest. Let’s have fun and create new friends!
