And let the Winter begin....with Zealand and The Bonds Traverse.
First full day of Winter, and I will begin my quest to finish my Winter 48, 13 left, with Zealand and the Bonds. There could be snow, ice, both, or nothing that requires traction. We will know closer to the hike. But I wanted to post this and get a big one in early. If you want to do this hike, it will best to stay overnight. We will meet at Lincoln Woods at 6am, leave some cars, and drive to Zealand Road. We will most likely have to do a road walk to Zealand trailhead. This will be a long day, but like I said, we can shore up the details closer to the hike. Right now I just want to see how many people want to go.

What we're about

This group is for hiking enthusiasts who want to challenge themselves both physically and mentally. The primary goal of this group is to hike all 48 of the White Mountains' 4000 footers, as well as other lists like the 67, hundred highest, and whatever else we feel like doing. Each event will feature a different hike, whether it be an individual summit or peak bagging. We don't believe in limiting ourselves so anyplace with a trail is fair game. We also do other outdoor activities such as kayaking, winter sports, and other trails, just to name a few.

There is no red tape here with Hike the 4000s. Whether you're a novice hiker looking to gain some exposure, or you are an experienced hiker looking to meet new people, this group welcomes you. Join us to finally check off one of your bucket list items, or join us to finally hike that one specific mountain that you've always wanted to conquer. Those of you with interests in photography and the natural wilderness are invited to join as well, as we will encounter many scenic vistas, and some trails offer an intimate forest experience. Whatever your background is, if you love the outdoors and challenging yourself, we welcome you to this group. We will just ask a few questions upon your joining to help us get a sense of what type of hikes our members are interested in.
