Hike The Homestead Trail at McKinney Falls State Park + Swim

Who's up for a short casual morning hike of The Homestead Trail at McKinney Falls State Park. There may be an option to swim if the Lower Falls swimming hole is open. Much of the trail is shaded.

Entrance to the park is $6. If you carpool with someone that has a park pass the entry fee is waived.

8:15am For carpool, meet at the Walmart parking lot (710 E Ben White Blvd.) near the gas station and possibly enter for free with others with a state park pass.

Or

8:30am Meet at McKinney Falls State Park Lower Falls parking lot.
8:45am Depart the trailhead and hike about 3 miles
10:00am Return to trailhead for drinks and snacks (if you bring alcohol park rules require that it be concealed.)
10:30am Swim in the Lower Falls, go out for brunch/lunch or go home

What to bring:
$6 for park entrance fee
Comfortable clothing and athletic shoes
1 litter of water
Snacks
Sun protection
Swim suit if you plan to swim
