2017-Nov: Joshua Tree NP Weekend-Day Hikes/The Lights Fest/Levels 1+ to 3

HIKINGOC ANNUAL WEEKEND TRIP IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK (https://www.nps.gov/jotr/index.htm)! This weekend is a Free Entrance Days (https://www.nps.gov/jotr/planyourvisit/fees.htm) .
We will check out The Lights Fest (https://thelightsfest.com/about/) on evening of Nov 11 (https://thelightsfest.com/event/southern-california/) (optional). It is about another 2 hours from Joshua Tree, but it will be a great experience. (Tickets sold out, but we could be able to view giant lanterns lighting up the sky)
PLEASE READ: We are gearing this trip toward experienced hikers who don't mind being flexible with the hiking schedule while at the scenery Joshua Tree National Park (https://www.nps.gov/jotr/planyourvisit/hiking.htm). To secure a space, please sign up to the waiting list, read the post and messages, send a message/email or meet me in person to discuss more and pay deposit.
***We'll help to arrange lodging/camping/carpooling if need to. Please see below for estimate cost and deposit details.
The waiting list is not because the trip is full, but it serves the commitment and communication purposes. Please plan to meet to hike at local trails or contact directly!

***Transportation: The drive is at least 2 hours one way from Orange County. We'll help to arrange carpool if need to.
***Plan your own and only join us to hike, $20 (non-refundable consulting fee). Contact the host directly for more info.
***Estimate Trip Cost (1 night $40+/from $80 to $100) including: Camping/lodging, transportation, coordinating fee, but excluding meals.
ADVANCE DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION:
- Advance Deposit due by Oct 31, 2017. (Add 10% to deposit amount if send after due date). It is non-refundable deposit. [Camping $10/Lodging $50]
- The following policies apply when making a cancellation:
***After putting down deposit, it is non-refundable
***1 week prior to the trip: 100% of the total estimate trip amount is subject to forfeiture

***What to bring: wear hiking clothes (loose shorts/pants), swimming clothes, hiking boots or shoes, sandals, hat, sunscreen, water, snacks, food and camping gears.

GOOD TO KNOW: Here are things you need to bring with:
- To prevent Mosquitoes: Insect repellent (just in case)
- Sunscreen (hot during the day, high in the 70s-90s)
- Layer clothes (cold at night, low in the 30-40s) and personal items needed.
- Hiking shoes, sandals, swimming clothes, we may stop by a hot springs on the way back.
To buy Hiking Gears: check out with Sport Chalet, REI for quality gears: shoes, clothes and camping gears or short term use gears at Target or Wal-Mart with decent price. You can see them online before going to the stores to check out.
