What we're about

The purpose of this Meetup group is to promote all the exciting, year-round activities at the Yankee Air Museum at the historic Willow Run Airport as well as events at the airport itself.

There will be monthly, historic presentations on a variety of topics. All are free and open to the public.

During flying season (May-Oct), we will post opportunities to fly on our four, vintage aircraft.

We will also promote our airshow, THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN. In 2017 it will be held Labor-Day weekend and will feature the BLUE ANGELS!

In addition, we will list all the other events held, basically, each month, for those who love history and aviation. Many of these are free events and all are family-friendly.

If you know of other history or aviation events that you'd like to promote to the group, we would love to hear about them and get them listed.

Thank you all, for your continued interest!

Yankee Air Museum Historic Lecture: Restoring the Bomber Plant Update - FREE!

Please note: our Guest Speaker for our February Lecture has changed: Yankee Air Museum Founder, Dennis Norton, will talk about restoring the Willow Run Bomber Plant with progress updates and a construction plan. It's been a substantial year of progress as work and fundraising continue on the infrastructure and groundwork of the saved portion of the Albert Kahn-designed Willow Run Bomber Plant. It is intended to become the new and magnificent home of the Yankee Air Museum. Join us as Dennis presents a visual tour of the progress over the last year, shares the Museum's 2017 construction plans and unveils, for the first time, the extraordinary architectural designs of the proposed, new exterior of the new Museum by architect Fred Gore. As always, our historic lectures are free and open to the public. The presentations begin at 7:30pm, but you and your guests are welcome to arrive early as seating fills up fast. Please use the north entrance to the museum as the south entrance will be locked. The north entrance is the larger of our two lots and the one with aircraft on display.
