Appetizer Plate : An afternoon project

Join Hive13 to make and finish a project in one afternoon. We teach you how to make your very own uniquely designed appetizer plate that will securely hold your wine glass. With the upcoming series of holiday parties and family and social gatherings you can mingle and greet people without awkwardly looking for a place to put your drink so you can finally try those canapés!

The goal of the class is to both help you make your own personalized project, get you familiar with some of the tools in the woodshop, and give you a project idea or two if you might want to make some last minute handmade Christmas gifts.

In the first half of the afternoon, we will go over the basics of using a few shop tools such as a bandsaw and drill press to create a simple wooden plate out of fragrant cedar. We will then go over a few sanding and finishing techniques that will leave you with your fully completed plate.

Never set foot in a woodshop? Don't worry, we will take you through the process step by step so you can complete your very first project with confidence. All makers and learners are welcome!
