We are West London's creative community of businesses who are developing physical products, or are from a creative industry background. 'Maker Connections' is a free event in which to network with other makers, hardware entrepreneurs/enthusiasts, designers, manufacturers, and product development experts!

6.15pm Jim Rhodes, founder of 'Those' talks about their product 'Joto', which recently won the Design Museum's 'Beazley Design of the Year' public vote.

6.30pm - Design for Manufacturing workshop with Zhou Shuyang

We are extremely excited to host a 'design for manufacturing' workshop, led by Zhou Shuyang who works for SEEED studio in Shenzhen. Zhou will be leading a hands on activity to illustrate the importance of DFM. She has also previously lectured on DFM to MIT and Harvard University, and has in depth knowledge of small batch manufacture and knows what it takes to support hardware startups from early on. All levels of experience welcome.

8.10pm - Local Ideas: Made in China with Michael Zheng

In addition, we are very pleased to host Michael Zheng, the founder of 'Innozen Design' who specialises in connecting international start-ups with Chinese manufacturers. He has an incredible amount of industrial design experience and has developed products that have raised over $1M on Kickstarter. Michael will be sharing case studies of products moving from prototype to production, and insights into crowdfunding success.
