Details
Homebrew Website Club is a monthly meetup of people passionate about or interested in creating, improving, building, designing their own website, in the same structure as the classic Homebrew Computer Club meetings.
You don't have to be a programmer or developer to be involved in the Homebrew Website Club. It's a place for anyone interested in making the internet work for them, rather than living within the confines and limitations set by Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, etc).
Come and find out how to build your own website using WordPress, Known or come and discuss how to build your own website if that's how you do it.
The advanced of social media shouldn't be restricted to the social media apps themselves. We should be able to "like", "share", "retweet" or "reply" to anything on the internet.
Are you building your own website? Indie reader? Personal publishing web app? Or some other digital magic-cloud proxy?
If so, you might like to come to a gathering of people with like-minded interests. Exchange information, swap ideas, talk shop, help work on a project, whatever...
There is an informal start time of 6:30 PM where we host a quiet writing hour of code. Come work on your project in an environment where you can focus.
At 7:30 PM the HWC officially starts and ends at 8:30 PM.
We'll be meeting in the UR Small Conference Room of the Urbana Regional Library
