Homesteaders is a Denver-based chapter of Toastmasters International (https://www.toastmasters.org/), initially founded by federal employees of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development over 25 years ago, in October 1988. Today, the Homesteaders club welcomes all community members who like to start their Tuesday mornings with an hour of public speaking and fun!

Toastmasters, an International Organization proven to improve your public speaking, leadership, confidence and personal development. This organization truly strives to continue its improvement so that you can continue your journey of self development.

Now for many of us, public speaking is one of our greatest fears. Based on current statistics from CreditDonkey, 73% of all American's have some fears towards public speaking. So how can Toastmasters help you?

Toastmasters provides all of the ideals components to a successful organization. During your time with Toastmasters, you will be surrounded by a strong community of like minded individuals who collaborate to bring everyone up. With the systematic approach to our Toastmasters meetings, you will see how Toastmasters has improved the lives of Tim Allen, Leonard Nimoy, myself and so many other individuals.With every week we are learning new techniques to improve our speaking techniques, our leadership skills, the opportunity to provide your own insights and specialties.

The Toastmasters website is detail oriented and provides step by step actions to lead you towards your goals. As you continue your journey with Toastmasters, your ability to define and grow into your life's purpose will provide you with a clear vision of how to reach your goals. Lastly, here at Toastmasters, we truly believe in recognition for your hard work. We understand this is hard work, throughout the year you will be completing speeches, running meetings, and working with members with your community. We are your cheerleaders on the sidelines as you continue your professional journey.

While we understand this past year has been tough, we know that with strong skills in public speaking, leadership, confidence and personal development, Toastmasters is here to support all of your endeavours.

Join us on December 1st, for our open house and learn new reasons why Toastmasters the right way to kickstart your career goals.

We will be launching our Speechcraft program on December 8th, a program that is free and allows you to try Toastmasters before you settle.

There are other roles including timer, inspirator, etc. that give members opportunities to participate and speak in public describing their roles and giving a report at the end of the meeting. Table Topics is the portion where volunteers are asked a question based on the Theme of the Day and given 1-2 minutes to answer. They are encouraged to use the Word of the Day. Guests are always welcome to participate in Table Topics. No need to bring anything.
