Hong Kong Music Lovers

The Underground is bringing together some of Hong Kong’s finest bands for one unforgettable night of live music. Join us on 8 August at The Underground Legends as we celebrate the city’s vibrant music scene with three acts that have earned their place among Hong Kong’s live music greats.
First up is Erik Piece, returning after a lengthy hiatus. An independent singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Erik has been a fixture of Hong Kong’s DIY music community since the early 2000s. After emerging in 2003 and later fronting Innisfallen, he made his solo debut at The Underground’s live showcases. Armed with guitar, ukulele, banjo, bass, keyboards and percussion, Erik pairs thoughtful storytelling with warm, melodic indie rock.

Next comes Say Mosquito, true scene veterans whose first Underground appearance dates back to 2013 at Backstage. Described by one of our reviewers as delivering “indie, funk, grungy, psychobilly and slightly punky music with just a touch of jazz”, the band has built a reputation for unpredictable performances. We can’t wait to welcome them back.

Headlining the evening is Andy Is Typing..., one of Hong Kong’s most acclaimed alternative rock bands and a longstanding Underground favourite. Since forming in 2016, the four-piece has built a devoted following with its blend of indie and alternative rock, combining big hooks and post-rock textures. From punchy debut single Take A Break to fan favourite 做自己 (Be Yourself), their music explores themes of life in the city, personal growth and self-discovery.

Come and celebrate three outstanding bands whose dedication, creativity and resilience have helped sustain Hong Kong’s live music scene. Most of all, come and celebrate the fans who make it all possible.
