Third Talkie of 2015 - #SmartCities, what, where, how.

Details
Smart Cities - what, where and how.
Thank you for the excellent turnouts and positive comments on our earlier Meetups. We've also had some lively discussions on LinkedIn (http://tinyurl.com/HotSourceNorwich) and this meetup group (check them out if you haven't already).
Your Hot Source organising team is now working hard at setting up our final two talkies for this year. In September, we will focus on the hot topic of #SmartCities (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23SmartCities&src=typd) - what are they, where are they and how is technology shaping them? We are delighted to announce that three excellent speakers have accepted our invitation to share their ideas.
Our Speakers:
James Cornford (https://www.linkedin.com/pub/james-cornford/9/360/5b2), Senior Lecturer at the UEA, specialising in organisational behaviour and urban development.
Mikele Brack (https://www.linkedin.com/pub/mikele-brack/0/2b2/52a), Founder and CEO of City Impact Challenge and an experienced sustainability consultant.
Michael Mulquin (https://www.linkedin.com/pub/michael-mulquin/0/15/8b7), Global Smart Cities Standards Expert and a specialist in helping cities use technology to work better.
So please join us for a fascinating evening of insights and discussion:
• Talkie #3 - Thurs 10 Sept
- 5:45pm open for 6pm start - socialising 8pm to 9pm close
We are also considering carrying this theme on into our December talkie, to look at how Norwich can become a Smart City.
• Talkie #4 - Thurs 10 Dec
- 5:45pm open for 6pm start - socialising 8pm - 9pm close.
Once again, we are delighted that NUA will be hosting the event in their Duke St Lecture Theatre - thank you to the NUA team for your support. There will also be a glass of wine or two in the reception afterwards (8-9PM), courtesy of the Economic Development team at Norwich City Council. Look out for their stand promoting the £3,000 business broadband vouchers.
We're also delighted to announce that Virgin Media Business (http://www.virginmediabusiness.co.uk/Products-and-solutions/Promotions/Vouchers/) has kindly offered to sponsor a selection of canapés for the evening. Virgin are one of the official suppliers under the business broadband voucher scheme. The canapés will be prepared by The Feed (http://the-feed.co.uk/), a local social enterprise that helps the homeless back into work by training them to produce delicious food.
If you have any suggestions for talkies - subject or speakers - please let any member of the team know or post your ideas below. Ideally, we would like to have more than one speaker at each event - so do let us know if you'd like to BE A SPEAKER.
Remember to follow @HSNorwich on twitter for updates.
Kind regards
Your Hot Source Team
ps: We have chosen the 2nd Thursday each quarter to avoid clashing with NorDev (which tends to be on the 1st Wednesday) and SyncNorwich (which tends to be on the 3rd Thursday). We hope also to hold ad-hoc events, perhaps with these other groups and will tell you more when we can.
