Hike at Little Thicket Nature Sanctuary

Details
On Saturday, June 9, 2018, the Houston Sierra Club will hike in the Outdoor Nature Club’s Little Thicket Nature Sanctuary (LTNS). There are many miles of trails in the LTNS which go by spring-fed creeks, rock formations, blackland prairies, and American Beech groves.
Bring your day-pack, three quarts of water, snacks, lunch, camera, field guides, and clothes appropriate for the weather. Long pants are recommended. This outing is limited to 20 people. No pets, firearms, or radios. We will put our cell phones on vibrate to enjoy the solitude, quiet, and natural sounds of the LTNS.
We will meet at the Valero convenience store at the intersection of FM 2025 and FM 945 at 9 am. Directions are:
-
From Houston, drive 50 miles north on U.S. 59 (Interstate 69) to Cleveland, Texas.
-
Exit to FM 2025, turn left, and drive on FM 2025 about five miles to the FM 945 intersection. The Valero convenience store will be on the left (southwest corner) of the intersection.
