1) Can “admirers” or “chasers” attend the events and groups?

Absolutely not. Please do not attend our groups and events if your motive is to find a sex partner. Do not embarrass yourself by making us kick you out of groups and events.

2) Can partners, parents, etc attend any of the groups?

They can attend some. IN.Formation (see calendar for meeting times) is designed for trans people and their parents/spouses/allies. It is also a very good place to start if you are beginning your transition process. We also offer a group specifically for non-trans family members, partners, and allies. See calendar for details. Also note, transgender individuals in general have few places to share their thoughts and concerns with others who are on this journey. Please keep this in mind when deciding whether or not to attend a meeting.

3) Can cis-men and people who identify as female attend Be Free (the trans-male group)?

No. Be Free is a group specifically for transgender men, at any stage of transition (including pre-transition). The group serves to give trans men a safe space to discuss sensitive topics such as health and sexuality.

The community leaders work hard to ensure that transgender individuals and our allies have safe and nurturing places to meet. Anyone who makes sexual references on the online discussion board will be removed from the group and blocked. Anyone, regardless of gender identity or previous involvement in our community, who makes lewd or sexual comments and/or gestures or who is seen "flashing" others at meetings and events will be removed, suspended, or banned at the discretion of the group facilitator.

Description from the website Since its founding in 1968, Metropolitan Community Churches have been at the vanguard of civil and human rights movements as an international advocate for vulnerable people in places where religious orthodoxy, sexism, transphobia and homophobia can result in violence and death. MCC has been on the forefront in the struggle towards marriage equality in the US and other countries worldwide and continues to be a powerful voice in the LGBTQ equality movement. MCC’s ministry reaches over 43,000 members in over 250 churches in 22 countries worldwide. Metropolitan Community Churches are on a bold mission to transform hearts, lives, and history. We are a movement that faithfully proclaims God’s inclusive love for all people and proudly bears witness to the holy integration of spirituality and sexuality. Due to Covid19, the services are currently being livestreamed on the church's Facebook page, "Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church."

Attendees must be age 18+. Please note, this is a sit-down, discussion type support group. It is not intended for people who are simply wanting to meet/date transgender people.
