The most successful products are the ones that people love. But what makes us love these products so much?
Legendary designers throughout history have found ways to capture people’s hearts and imaginations by creating products that truly resonate with people by using a catalog of timeless principles that apply universally across many design areas. Not until recently have these laws been validated and supported by a new wave research studying the human unconscious: the study of social neuroscience.
Our unconscious minds control the majority of our behaviors, influence our perception of reality, and are the source of most of our decisions. Without understanding it, we cannot completely master the art of great design.
In this talk we will review the design principles that – for years – have been continuously written about as being core to great design (priming, shaping, way-finding, psychological constraints, the Gestalt principles, and all the other well established biases and effects).
