What we're about

Houston Dads Group is a diverse community of fathers who take an active role in our children’s lives. We host meet-ups several times per month, with our kids at parks, playgrounds, museums, sporting events, parent-and-me classes, and anywhere else we feel compelled within the Houston, Texas metropolitan area. We also host Dads Nights Out to give our members an opportunity to socialize, have fun, learn, and support each other as we navigate parenthood.

We are a group with dads of all stripes: married dads, single dads, dads who share custody, adoptive dads, stepdads, stay at home dads, full time working dads, work from home dads, freelance dads, etc. Our meet-ups occur both during the week and on weekends to accommodate both stay at home dads and working dads. We welcome all involved fathers in and around the Houston metro area who want to socialize and interact with other guys who enjoy spending quality time with their children. The only requirement to join is to be a dad. There are no group dues and no attendance expectations. We have some dads who come consistently to most of what we do, and we have some dads who might only come out once or twice per year. We’re here for all dads whenever they are ready to participate.

Houston Dads Group is part of the City Dads Group, a dynamic and diverse community of fathers dedicated to being active in their children’s lives and, by example, redefining what it means to be a dad in the 21st century. City Dads Group has active groups in many major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. Find them all here at http://citydadsgroup.com/

** Please note this group is strictly for Dads, we understand sometimes partners will try to join for their significant others but we encourage them to join on their own accord. We want this group to be a comfortable place for Dads to learn and talk about anything dad related.

Houston Dads! Join us at this annual kids' music festival. From their website: The Heights Kids' Day of Music is a music festival all about bringing local music to our Heights community families. 100% Local Music. 100% Fun. Activities include two stages with performances by local bands and local organizations that bring music to our community; an instrument "petting zoo" allows kids to get an up-close look at band and orchestra instruments; and a "singing station" has opera singers on hand so festival goers can hear the different singing voices and learn about what singing in an opera group is all about. Wings Over Houston Airshow

Ellington Field

Let's meet for the 2019 Wings Over Houston Airshow! There is all kinds of stuff going on here. In addition to all of the flying going on, there will be wide variety of planes on display, kids area, feature flying, history, legends & heroes autograph tent, kids carnival, merchandise booths, food tents, and more. More information on pricing will be added as the even approaches. You can sign up as an "Airshow Insider" to get discounts on tickets and various updates. While there will be flying going on all day, apparently, the exciting jet team (including the Blue Angels) doesn't begin until 3:00. The Airshow itself begins at 8:00 am, but we won't be meeting till 2:00 as it makes for a really long day for the kiddos. We will meet under the cockpit of the B-52 Flying Stratofortress at 2:00 and that should give us a bit of time, maybe, to wonder around and see a couple things before the jet teams begin. There is on-site parking as well as park-and-ride shuttle services available. If parking on-site, it is suggested you try to get parked by 1:00 so you can get to our rally point by 2:00. What to Bring: - lawn chair(s) - lighweight / folding - Hearing protection - kids should have the earmuff style available in the hunting section of Sports Academy - Sunglasses - Hat - Rain gear / umbrella if it looks like it might rain - Lunch / Snacks (food also available for purchase) - Water / drinks (drinks also available for purchase) - Sunscreen & bug spray More info: https://wingsoverhouston.com/
