What we're about

Houston Freelance Creatives is a group of graphic designers, illustrators, web designers, web developers, photographers, video editors, motion animators, UI/UX designers, videographers, SEO consultants, marketers, 3D modelers, shop owners, and artists.

We meet once a month in Houston for coffee, conversation, and community. We're looking to socialize, share our stories and experiences, show off recent work, ask and answer questions, celebrate triumphs, and connect with local creatives in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

This Meetup began as "Houston Freelance Graphic Designers" in early 2013 and has since grown to include freelancers in all creative fields.

Our hope is for everyone in attendance to leave with either a new tool to try, direction to move in, or fresh connection made; while feeling energized, motivated and inspired! WHAT TO EXPECT We help everyone who attends participate in our discussions. Everyone will have opportunity to suggest topics, vote and discuss. WHO SHOULD ATTEND Houston Freelance Creatives is for graphic designers, illustrators, web designers/developers, photographers, video editors, motion graphics animators, UI/UX designers, writers, and many more -- who want to connect with other like-minded freelancers in the Houston community. THE HOSTS Saeid is the Founder of The Freelance Creatives. With over 5,000 members across six cities, and as a full-time freelancer himself, he's accumulated a vast knowledge of the challenges freelancers face. The Houston chapter alone has seen a variety of freelancers use the knowledge they gain from the group to successfully start their own businesses. Justin is one of those success stories. He joined The Freelance Creatives group over three years ago when he moved to Houston. The group helped him learn how to successfully run his own freelance business, and he's now been working for himself for over two years. Together, Saeid and Justin have made all the common freelancing mistakes. With their shared experience, and their dedication to show up every month, they provide a community that promotes discussion and helps other freelancer's improve their businesses.
