Details
This new book club, sponsored by The Poor People’s Campaign, OC, is a great way to become more involved in the social justice movement. We're collaborating with United Nations Assoc-OC and other socially-aware groups around OC to learn more, discuss our history, and become more engaged in the issues. We'll have bi-monthly meetings, starting Saturday 8/15/20, and break books up by one or more chapters per session, with plenty of good, open, stimulating discussion. First book up: “How to Be an Anti-Racist” by Ibram X. Kendi. Please join us!!
Our kickoff meeting on 8/15 will be to introduce the group and book. BE SURE TO REGISTER at the link below (to the right, under "online event', and you'll then get the Zoom link .
Watch the author's Ted Talk on the book first at: https://www.ted.com/talks/ibram_x_kendi_the_difference_between_being_not_racist_ and antiracist. (If link is not direct, write “kendi” in TED search box).
If you can't make one of the dates, other groups will also be meeting throughout the week... just let us know and we'll get you their meeting info.
