Odyssey of the Mind Humanist Team Competes in Regional Tournament!
The HSGP Humanist team will solve two problems at this year's OOTM Regional tournament at Scottsdale Community College.
The first is their performance problem, and the team will present their solution at 8:40 am.
The second is their structure problem, and their solution will be presented at 10:06 am.
The awards ceremony is at the end of the day, at 4:00 pm.
HSGP's team is the only one representing a group other than a school. Last year they were first place champions!
If you would like to come and cheer your team on, email Brian or Jennifer, or comment below. One of us will get a map and full schedule to you.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.
Message from our OOTM coach Brian Calaway:
It is time for the HSGP Odyssey of the Mind team (1st Place Champions at the 2013 Central Arizona Regional Tournament and 2nd Place Champions at the 2013 State Tournament) to start meeting to work on this year's problem solutions. The regional tournament is March 8 at Scottsdale Community College, so put that on your calendars. We will meet on Speaker Sundays (2 Sundays per month) at the Humanist Community Center from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. If additional time is needed to work on the problems, we can stay past 11:30.
