Rational Mindfulness Group

At the end of this months meeting we will be announcing some exciting changes to the group.

Life can be so stressful—it really helps to learn and practice evidence-based techniques to manage stress and to become more compassionate. Especially for non-believers, it is important to do so in a science-friendly, rational atmosphere.

The Rational Mindfulness Group supports secular people in using scientifically-informed mindfulness and meditation practices to reduce stress, sharpen thinking, calm emotions, and enhance compassion. Our meetings combine various types of meditation, yoga (stretching), readings, and discussions. It’s a great place for both those who want to learn how to meditate and become more mindful, and for those with some experience who want to try out new techniques and meet like-minded folks.

For more information on rational, evidence-based mindfulness, see the webpage of the Humanist Mindfulness Group at the Humanist Community at Harvard.  (

Mindfulness was the cover story for this week's Time magazine. I made some copies to bring to today's meeting. If you want me to send you the article via email, let me know.

A few people recently had questions about length of the event. Perhaps we can list ending time in the meetup description?

Hi All! We're considering a 2nd Rational Mindfulness meetup a month, potentially in a different area of town. We would love to hear what area of town you would like! Please take a quick minute an let us know.
