What we're about

Welcome to the Humanists Australia meetup group. Be sure to visit our website (https://humanistsaustralia.org)!

Here, Humanists can meet each other, discuss issues related to Humanism, work on activism campaigns, find support, and socialise. We are not alone!

This is also where members of local Humanist communities around Australia can come together to share ideas for building their communities.

Please feel welcome to join us for friendly get-togethers and to explore a Humanist approach to issues, large and small.

“Humanism is a democratic and ethical life stance, which affirms that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives. It stands for the building of a more humane society through an ethic based on human and other natural values in the spirit of reason and free inquiry through human capabilities. It is not theistic, and it does not accept supernatural views of reality.”

'IHEU Minimum Statement on Humanism', Humanists International, General Assembly, 1996

Some words about humanism taken from the Amsterdam Declaration 2002:

"Humanism is a lifestance aiming at the maximum possible fulfilment through the cultivation of ethical and creative living and offers an ethical and rational means of addressing the challenges of our times. Humanism can be a way of life for everyone everywhere."
