Reason On The Hill - Iowa 2019

Details
Humanists of Linn County, a chapter of the American Humanist Association will host its third annual Reason On The Hill Day on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 9am to 2pm in the rotunda of the Iowa State Capitol Building in Des Moines.
The Humanists of Linn County strive to protect the rights of humanists, atheists, and other non-religious Iowans. Humanism is an ethical philosophy that encourages people to live informed and meaningful lives that aspire to the greater good of humanity.
Our members believe strongly in the separation of church and state and that reason, science, critical thinking, and compassion should guide the legislative and policy making processes.
On this Day on the Hill we will speak with legislators and visitors to the Capitol about humanism and and the principles that guide us. In addition, a secular non-theist invocation will be given by humanists in the Iowa House and Iowa Senate simultaneously at 1 pm.
Humanists of Linn County will be joined by other secular groups and organizations from throughout the state. On this day we will have the opportunity to show our elected officials that secular Iowans are a constituency to learn and hear from. All secular non-theist groups and organizations are encouraged to join with us on Reason On The Hill Day.
