What we’re about
The Prairie State Humanists (formerly Humanists of West Suburban Chicagoland) is a membership chapter of the American Humanist Association. Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without supernaturalism, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity. http://www.americanhumanist.org/who_we_are/about_humanism...

See all- Science Sunday - The Scopes "Monkey" Trial: 100yr AnniversaryDuPage Unitarian Universalist Church, Naperville, IL
The Scopes "Monkey" Trial occurred 100 years ago this past July in the small town of Dayton Tennessee. It was billed as "The Trial of the Century", and it was indeed a spectacle unmatched since (possibly with the exception of the "O.J. Trial”).
During this Science Sunday, Scott will discuss the trip he took with his husband and a friend to historic Dayton, to witness a live re-enactment and gather with others commemorating the trial.
He will then talk about the history and some of the people involved in the trail.
Finally, we will wrap with a discussion of why the issues central to the trail remain relevant 100 years later.
This event will be simulcast on YouTube and you can make comments and raise questions with Youtube's chat feature. (228) DupageUU Church - YouTube
