As always, the simple joys of being with like-minded, open and rational people is a treat. Even when we disagree (and we do disagree because we ARE human) it's OK! Today's presentation, in my opinion, was eye opening about how children can learn amongst themselves, without official "teachers".
Talking about the possibility of a fundraiser at The Lyric Theater, in April of 2014 to support Jazz and open the community to learn about us is exciting. If we are to grow, we can't stay where we are. If we are to reach others who don't know we exist, we need something big to open their eyes. Attracting our local High School students studying jazz and creating a contest to open for the Lyric Theater Jazz performance of a world acclaimed jazz pianist (Lenore Raphael) gives us opportunities to reach parents, teachers and youth.
