Why are you a Humanist?

I was brought up on a very liberal form of Christianity which tended to de-empasize miraculous explanations for things. Hence I never really had a particularly strong belief in the supernatural. I believe that I am not naturally predisposed to such a belief. Soon after moving away from my parents, I came in contact with more conservative forms of Christianity, which led me to examine the claims of the religion and dismiss them.

Hello, my name is Bradley. I am a member of many meetup groups that center of skepticism, atheism, secularism and so forth. I received an invitation to attend the upcoming debate from a fellow member of several of those groups.
