Come spend a weekend learning landscape techniques and shooting the amazing landscape of Death Valley.

The weather is perfect now. Not too hot and not too cool in the evening. Weather should be gorgeous with days in the 85-90 degree range and nights in the 60 degree range so come prepared with layered clothing. There are plenty of places where we are staying to buy food stuff.

I have been photographing and (more importantly) leading workshops to Death Valley for over thirty years. Come along with this Old Desert Rat who really knows the area, not some guy who attended one workshop there and now wants to lead his own.

We will officially start early (8am) on Saturday morning and end Sunday after sunset. Plan to arrive on Friday evening. My workshops to DV always produce great images for the enthusiastic photographers who attend.

Topics include: 1. Exposure and learning to love the Histogram 2. White balance 3. RAW or jpeg? 4. Composition 5. Techniques to emphasize depth in a scene 6. How to create beautiful landscape images 7. Panoramas. As an added bonus the workshop will include some demonstrations on a number of exciting techniques including: 1. Light painting 2. HDR and my own modified version of HDR You can view some of my modified images here:

Plan to get up early and shoot for most of the day with breaks for meals (not provided). We will be based in a great little Nevada town that is pretty cool and close by. The motel rooms run around $50/night (not included). This is not Vegas and it's pretty laid back. :)

For those that are interested we will follow the weekend with a critique session about 30 days later. At that time I will also demonstrate my post processing HDR techniques.

Workshop fee covers workshop only. Travel, meals, motel are not included. A detailed information sheet with motel information and itinerary will be provided upon signing up.

SAVE! Bring a friend to this workshop and get the two-fer cost of only $500. OR sign up for this workshop and the Bodie trip ($250) and get them both for $450 ($100 off). (You can't process that payment automatically through Paypal, you will need to contact me by email.)

Note: I have reduced the fee for both these workshops from $400 ea. This should help build attendance but it also puts a minimum attendance number on each workshop. So, my advice is to enroll ASAP. If we do not meet the minimum I will refund all fees.

Questions? Email me. Carpooling can be arranged. Why drive up alone when you can make the drive with another photographer?

Come along. We'll have a great weekend! See you there!
