Brevet season starts!

Dear All,

A brevet is an ultra endurance cycling event. For those of you who would like to know more, here is some light reading:

The season for brevets the world around is November-October. The first one in Hyderabad is this Saturday. Hyderabad Brevets is the local club that conducts these events.

Last two seasons, the route was very very unimaginative and boring to ride. I hated it. This year, we've made an effort to make them interesting. A lot of volunteer effort has gone into setting the routes and we're quite pleased with the result.
We have brought down the volume of rides and instead want to focus on the quality of rides.
ALL the routes are unique. Each one is a different ride through scenic routes. They are not limited to one highway or one direction outside Hyderabad
There are TOUGH. They will test you. That's how it should be. You should earn your medal from a ride that is hard.
Many more volunteers this year to make your entire experience enjoyable. Lot of surprises in store. You just have to get your bike out and find out for yourself.

The calendar for the season I've attached in this email. The more adventerous of you can jump right in and ride the one this Saturday. You have the whole of Sunday to recover anyway. All you need is a bike in rideable condition. It needn't be a specific kind of bike. Any bike would do. Find the right company to ride with and you are set. Just go through the rule book before you sign up.

I know that a lot of you think you need training before attempting a big ride, and it is true. However, many of you are cyclists yourself and if you have the right company, the distance will count itself down like THAT! If you have NO experience, stay out of this one and drop me an email. I will be more than glad to help you out in training for this.

Hope to see some of you on the route, I'll be one of the volunteers on Saturday.
