Rasmus Westerlin from The Central Bank of Denmark – The Danish Central Bank´s experience with DLTs

Rasmus Westerlin, the Principle Infrastructure Expert and Overseer VP from the Central Bank of Denmark, will share his experience and learning points from the Banks experimentation with Distributed Ledger Technologies.

Rasmus will share his thoughts and challenges that he has observed and discuss why the Central Bank is looking into this technology and how they believe it is an interesting benchmark for their more traditional centralized systems within payments and settlement.

As a part of a joint project with ECB and other European National Central Banks, Danmarks Nationalbank has been using Hyperledger Fabric as a technical platform for their exploration of use cases.

Furthermore, to discuss how the various chains can be used and interact from a business and technical perspective. Let us get idea infected and learn from each other and hopefully start ideas and concrete work as a result of the group.

This PoC represents the marketplace for Peer-to-Peer trades of any standardized financial instrument or commodity: the dashboard for indicating bids & offers and the ledger of P2P deals recorded in chronological order.
Traders can create reports indicating aftermarket cash flows - receivable and payable - and the interest earned/paid.

Vitaliy has engineering background in Electronics and holds MBA degree majoring in Finance from Manchester Business School. His career started in banking: trading in capital markets helped him accumulate knowledge of financial instruments and trading systems. Vitaliy worked as a Finance director focusing on FinTech solutions in various industries: telecommunications, retail, real estate. Vitaliy now contributes as a blockchain trainer focusing on business solutions.'
