ASX CHESS Replacement - The inside story...

Details
In January 2016, the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) selected Digital Asset as a technology partner to develop the CHESS Replacement System (a post-trade platform for the cash equity market) using blockchain / distributed ledger technologies. (https://www.asx.com.au/services/chess-replacement.htm)
Costing many-millions of dollars and being years in the making, this is arguably Australia's largest, real-world blockchain project. It’s also one that will be used by many hundreds of thousands of ordinary Australians either directly or indirectly. This project is also being watched intently by every other stock exchange on the planet as they contemplate migrating their own equivalent systems to blockchain technologies.
Fil Mackay, Head of Engineering, Digital Asset Australia, is a technology professional, with deep experience in the Australian financial markets. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/filmackay/).
Fil is an advocate of functional programming technology, and its application to smart contracts in particular; Fil is Head of Engineering for the Sydney-based Digital Asset technology team, who are building the core equities clearing & settlement platform for ASX.
He has worked with DA for three years, through the proof-of-concept phase of the CHESS Replacement project, to the enterprise build-out. His interests also extend to trading, and the innovative future of crypto-assets in general.
During this meetup, Fil will be discussing:
