PRESENTATION

HSM welcomes Greg Skerry, Solutions Architect and blockchain trainer with Altoros to answer the question... how do we decentralize big banking?

In truth, a subset of the finance industry has been organizing itself in a decentralized, peer-to-peer manner for many years. In the so-called
over-the-counter market, brokerages and traders orchestrate deals that are either too customized or too rare to be served by large, centralized
exchanges. But today this increased freedom comes at a cost. Without industry-standard systems and protocols for arranging trades, OTC
participants are left to organize themselves with slow and inefficient communication tools.

In this talk, Greg will review work that Altoros has done to established a decentralized trading platform for over-the-counter instruments on Hyperledger Fabric, and how this use-case could impact the wider finance industry.
