Trusted Data Ecosystems: Finding The Value In Identity

Details

Catastrophes have a way of resetting fundamentals, and the fundamental question Indicio has worked on over the past year is: how can we trust digital data? This problem is now endemic to life because all our information is becoming digital.

The exchange of digital information appears on the surface to be efficient, but in actuality is saddled with risk and redundant processes, all in the name of attempting to determine whether information is true and trustworthy. This is costing us a fortune in mitigation, poor user experience, fraud, and theft.

Decentralized identity, specifically Trusted Data Ecosystems, developed through the use of Hyperledger Indy, Hyperledger Aries, Hyperledger Ursa and Cardea, the Linux Foundation Public Health project, solve all of these problems and add value to existing identity systems.

Hyperledger Indy provides tools and libraries for providing digital identities rooted on blockchains or other distributed ledgers. These identities are interoperable across administrative domains and applications. Indy has the power to enable the decentralization of identity and support vertical markets with identity and trusted data solutions.

Ken Ebert, CTO of Indico, and Scott Harris, COO of Indicio will discuss how Indicio designed trusted data ecosystems to easily integrate into existing infrastructure, how easy they are to update, and easy to interoperate among one another—and how an open-source base enables continuous, sustainable improvement and innovation.
