WEDNESDAY Language Exchange in LA STRAUNZA: Molly Malone and The Wicklow Arms!

Come to an area where you have two Irish bars really close to each other.
There are going to be plenty of English, Spanish and Basque people at these bars, so those who would like to brush up on their English, Spanish and Basque will find it really helpful.

The area opened after many months, and it has recently been turned into a pedestrian-only zone/zona peatonal. Therefore, we should not gather in large groups. It's a good idea to move around the bars. That's why we have chosen this area where you have a few bars close to one another.

1: Please, keep the groups small. Even though people are sometimes all together in a huge single group, they still talk in separate groups. It just looks big but is in reality small in essence.

2: Could people please make an effort to mix with everyone so that by the end of the evening you have moved seats a few times? The exchange should be people talking in small groups: maximum number should be 2 to 3 which is ideal for the space available.

3: People should change speaking partners after a reasonable amount of time. This will help create different group dynamics that could really spark wonderful opportunities for learning about languages and other people.

4: Keep track of the spending as a group to make it worthwhile for the bar to welcome us there the next time around too.

5: Please, coordinate with the others here by sending a message to each other.

6: Please, make an effort to help the ones who want to learn Spanish too to avoid just becoming an English speaking group which native speakers and English teachers tend to avoid.

7: Due to my disability and mobility issues I am unable to be there physically. However, as you have all learnt the power off remote working, I will still connect all of you so that you can all have lots of fun.

Please, communicate below in the comments section to find each other.

See you there!

FRIDAY NIGHT LANGUAGE EXCHANGE at Vincci Hotel!

Vincci Hotel

Finish off the week with a lighthearted conversation in English and Spanish. Have a chit chat over a drink in one of the newest and trendiest hotels in Bilbao with a terrace overlooking the Guggenheim museum and Sea Lough (la Ria). The atmosphere is different from your average bar. Therefore, we would like to stay true to the nature of the place and keep a stylish low profile during the activity to blend in.

2: Could people please make an effort to mix with everyone so that by the end of the evening you have moved seats a few times? The exchange should be people talking in small groups: maximum number should be 3 to 4 which is ideal for the seating arrangements at the hotel.
