Tuesday Talks With Strangers - Practical Skills to Build Resiliency

Details

Welcome #StrangerNation! We have been expecting you!

We have started a brand new themed series of Tuesday Talks with Strangers in the GTA. Based in the Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon area (Peel region), we'll be bringing in guest speakers who will offer practical tips to help you live confidently and boldly, and build your resiliency.

Resilient people have a resilient mindset, the capacity to recover quickly from challenging situations. Sometimes we just need to understand systems or who to turn to, as in the case of moving to a new city or finding a new job, or facing a health scare. Through guest speakers, and sharing our experiences with others, we'll learn something. And perhaps more importantly, learn that we're not alone.

By developing a resilient human spirit, we can live boldly, inspire others and even change lives.

  • What is Tuesday Talks with Strangers?
Tuesday Talks is an evening gathering where guests are introduced to fellow strangers in their local community in a fun, social networking fashion. Along with Strangers from all walks of life, participants explore how talking with other individuals leads to meaningful, lasting relationships in both personal and professional life!

The evening is just a time to kick back after work in the early part of the week, have fun meeting new people, engage in facilitated, meaningful conversations, and get inspired!

We often invite a Stranger Engager to be a guest speaker who helps set the theme for the evening. We may also ask a Stranger to share their personal challenges in their journey to becoming a more resilient person, with the guest speaker providing insights to consider.

We usually get 25-30 attendees. These events are cross-posted on Facebook, Eventbrite, Instagram, Twitter and Couchsurfing.

  • Cost
Bring a friend or stranger and there will be no admittance fee, all FREE! (We do encourage at least one purchase be made to support the venue.) Come alone and you'll be encouraged to contribute $2-$20 to the donation jar! Funds collected go towards ITTS™ community programs and projects.
