Single and Mingle Social

Hey everyone, I am putting together a social at the Pint Pub for all the single people in our group. The reason the event is just for singles is because the event originated from a singles facebook group so I am obligated to keep this prerequisite.

If you are single and would like to mingle with others from this group I would like to invite you to this no pressure fun-filled event.

This is not an event to try to hook up or find a date it is just a social to get to know other people a bit better.

I have reserved the downstairs section of the pub and I am working on some perks and fun games to keep everyone entertained and engaged.

Here is what we have so far:

2 Jugs of Beer for every 20 attendees

Match Game - Everyone gets a card, find your matching card, you both win a prize!

The “No Game” Everyone receives a bracelet, if you say no you lose your bracelet.
(The one with the most bracelets after 60 minutes wins a $50 Tim Hortons Gift Card!)

Itinerary:

6:00 – 7:00pm People arrive, check in and receive Name tag, Match Game Card, “No” Game Bracelet, Single Mingle Bingo Card and Random Draw Ticket.

7:00 – 9:30pm The pitchers start flowing and the games begin

Single Mingle Bingo
Place your name in the free square and find people that match the statements on your bingo card. You must have a different name on each square. Although, if this proves too difficult we may change the rules and allow the same name to appear 2 or 3 times on a card. We will have to see how this goes.

Once you have completed a line, hand in your card and we will draw a winner for a cash prize. Amount dependent on # of attendees

Match Game
Find your match and bring your match to me to win a prize. Probably cash but I am still hoping for sponsor prizes.

8:00 -9:30 The "No" Game

Everyone that plays must wear their bracelet on their wrist or hand so it is visible. If you say the word “no”, you lose your bracelet. You can say nope, nuh uh, negative or anything else... you just can’t say the word no. The homonym “know” like “I don’t know”doesn’t count.

If you lose your bracelet, you are not out of the game. After a while, there will be a few people walking around with lots of bracelets on their wrist. If you make that person say “no” you get all their bracelets.

The game ends at 9:30 and the one with the most bracelets wins a cash prize. I am hoping for $50 but this is dependent on attendance numbers.

9:30 – 10:00pm Random Draw Prizes
We have 4 pairs of tickets to Yuk Yuks that will be awarded via random draw

Event Fee:
I have implemented a nominal $6.00 event fee (plus eventbrite fee) for this meet & greet social so the pub and our sponsors will know how many attendees we have and thus be able to provide X number of gifts and or perks accordingly.

The money raised from the event fee will be allocated to our next event which will of course will make it bigger and better!

Looking Forward:
If we can get 100 attending which would give us 10 free pitchers of beer and $600 for prizes and perks (less this month’s expenses) for our next social. That would be awesome!

I am working on getting some prizes from sponsors that we can award via random draw. I have tickets for Yuks Yuks Comedy Club and I am waiting to hear back from Commodore Lanes Bowling, Dunbar Theatre and Playland. I will update this posting as I acquire them.
