Networking and learning meetup

Details
Join us for our bi-monthly Networking and learning meetup, for four hours on the 3rd Tuesday afternoon of every other month - alternating with our Monday evening social meetups.
This month we will be joined by Sarah Allen & Andreas Pavlou of Involve for a session on the design and facilitation of last year's Citizen's Assembly on Brexit, and by Annabel Kaye on the mysteries of GDPR and how we can get on top of compliance without over complicating things - see the comments below for more on those, including links, and please add a comment of your own to let us know your own offers and suggestions for sessions.
We meet for these every time in the portacabin meeting room of the Calthorpe Project community centre on Grays Inn Road. The room can accommodate up to 20 or 25 at a squeeze. It is just beyond the small decked area overlooking the community garden, and has moveable tables & chairs and a flip chart, whiteboard and space for a sticky wall. There is a community cafe where we buy lunch or drinks & snacks - tea or coffee and cake will be provide mid-afternoon, included in your fee.
The timing and location of these meetups is intended to attract and enable people to travel from outside of London to join us as well - even from neighbouring IAF groups in Scotland, Paris or Brussels (we are a 10 minute walk from the St Pancras Eurostar terminal & Kings Cross). Please invite friends & colleagues from near and far!
These meetups allow time and space for us to demonstrate, practice and experiment with our facilitation together, and share feedback on that, as well as share presentations and support through discussion. So, building on the successful format of previous meetups, we suggest some combination each time of these four key elements:
• a round of introductions, followed by open discussion to follow up on whatever emerges of common interest
• short presentations from one or two of those present, followed by questions and discussion
• one or two longer facilitated sessions, followed by feedback and discussion on the process as well as the content
- an opportunity for 2 or 3 of those present to share a current challenge or issue that they are struggling with, to receive questions, feedback or advice in return.
Please let us know in a comment below if you are prepared to share a presentation, facilitate a session, or bring a challenge or issue for us to respond to.
Stay on afterwards if you can to go for some food and drink together nearby. We recommend the Queens Head (http://queensheadlondon.com/), very nearby and on the way back to Kings Cross station.
Please share a review on the group page afterwards, to let others know how you found the meetup - and please use the hashtag #IAFMeetup (https://twitter.com/hashtag/iafmeetup) on social media before, during & after the meetup!
Nb: when you RSVP and submit payment via PayPal, please be sure to click on the link at the end of the PayPal process that returns you to Meetup's site. If you close you browser without clicking this link, your payment will be processed but will not be recorded on Meetup.
