Digital Developer Conference: Applied Conversational AI

IBM's Worldwide Digital Developer Conference takes place on Tuesday, 8 June. IBM in Ireland is delighted to partake in this worldwide festival via our regional conversational AI event.

We've lined up some of the best topics/speakers to deliver a series of lightning talks covering the hype, the design and implementation of conversational AI solutions.

Welcome &opening remarks

15:05-15:20 Ronan Dalton, IBM
Ronan Dalton will introduce the concept of Conversational AI and the phenomenon of the virtual assistant aka chatbot. He’ll examine the use of chatbots across industries to improve customer experience and lower costs. Finally, he’ll look at the steps involved in building your first bot with Watson.

“Goldie” EYs cognitive chatbot, powered by IBM Watson was deployed for more than 250,000 staff members at EY firms around the world resulting in unparalleled employee engagement, rapid return on investment and substantial annual savings.

15:40-16:00 Lucy Clancy, Ludex Limited
Ludex utilises IBM Watson’s cloud APIs to power their solutions, and are an IBM Watson Ecosystem Partner. They have developed Intelligent Chatbots powered by Natural Language AI algorithms that mimic human conversational style.

16:00-16:20 David Conway,Accenture
Accenture worked with the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland to improve the taxpayer experience by developing Revenue’s voicebot: “Meeting customer needs for an on-demand service with conversational AI technology”
