Learn about PowerAI as a platform for Deep Learning

We are really pleased to announce the date of our first Meetup for the IBM PowerAI Frankfurt group.

Get together with IBM, NVIDIA and INS and learn about Deep Learning and PowerAI. Listen to INS how they are using Deep Learning as part of their daily business and how NVIDIA and IBM are working together to build a Deep Learning perspective.

Explore the benefits of using open source frameworks together with IBM PowerAI tools to enable a complete user-friendly Deep Learning system. Everything running on IBM's state-of-the-art platform based on Power CPU's and NVIDIA GPU's. The seminar is targeted people with an interest in Deep Learning, whether that interest is fueled by business or technical reasons. Our focus is more on what Deep Learning is and what you can do with it.

A demo of the latest technology preview of AI Vision. Showing how image labeling, object recognition and image classification can be done very easy.

18:45 - Deep Learning Demystified (NVIDIA - Ralph Stocker)
The last five years has seen an unprecedented progress in Artificial Intelligence research. Neural Networks, which were perceived as a failed experiment of Machine Learning research, not only are successfully solving a wide range of everyday problems but in many cases significantly exceed human performance. The goal of this talk is to help to understand which problems can be solved with Deep Neural Networks today and equip the audience with tools to assess the feasibility of their own projects.

19:15 - Putting PowerAI in place (INS Systems - Eberhard Faust)
Over the past 6 months INS Systems concentrated on the implementation of High Performance Computing as a Service. OPEX, CAPEX, off premise (cloud) and on premise including the ecosystem for cognitive systems are the primary drivers for this Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering. The target is to realize quick and efficient solutions in the area of deep learning, cognitive computing and research in artificial intelligence covering a broad range of use cases.

19:45 - Boeblingen Cognitive capabilities (IBM - Stefan Diederichs)
In the IBM Germany Lab in Boeblingen are 1.600 developers working on hard and software topics like POWER9 and PowerAI Deep Learning platform.
In my lightning talk I will show up the capabilites of the Client Center that is your portal into the IBM Germany Lab for PowerAI.
