Learn more about PowerAI with use cases

We're hosting our second IBM PowerAI Meetup in Frankfurt on 15th August 2018.

This time it is much more about live demos and use cases. It is still all about IBM PowerAI and how to use the specific IBM tools to facilitate everything Deep Learning.

We do a short recap on what IBM PowerAI is and what it can offer to you. The seminar is targeted people with an interest in Deep Learning, whether that interest is fueled by business or technical reasons. All presentations will be in English.

Abstract:
GPU Deep Learning is the foundation for the fourth industrial revolution driven by AI. During this session will be presented the IBM AC922 architecture and design for deep learning workloads. As a fundamental block for Distributed Deep Learning Architecture various sizing aspects will be presented together with related PowerAI software implications.

• Roadmap: German IBM Power AI Cloud - True HPC in the Cloud

Abstract:
When thinking of cloud computing people expect renting a virtual machine, installing all of the needed software, dealing with cryptic error messages, and getting bills for every bit and byte they move. In cooperation with Nimbix, IBM changed this in the US with the introduction of a true HPC cloud.
Now, in cooperation with its partner INS Systems, IBM brings the true HPC cloud to Europe (GDPR compliant). We are on the cutting edge of high-speed processing hardware, utilizing IBM Power8 systems running on NVIDIA P100, and plan to integrate the Power9 systems, which utilize V100 GPUs, soon. Choose your preinstalled software (e.g. PLANET AI solutions or IBM Power AI) and run your machine. Or, if you would like to use different software, containerize it with Docker.

• AI Trends and Developments for analytics with OpenPower and GPUs

Abstract:
New technical possibilities with OpenPower and NVIDIA are the trend setters for new developments. New start up's are driving the development of databases and analytics methods which could not be realized on traditional systems. Bernd Stroehle will discuss the trends for analytics, storage and databases from his experiences with new startups and the posibilities for use cases.
