Agenda for the June meeting:

We will be looking at the Cryptocurrency sector is evolving and how more institutions are getting involved this asset class.We will also be hearing from Rlay who are doing an ICO.

Charlie Kerrigan Partner
CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP

Charlie acts on credit finance matters with an emphasis on technology, telecoms and finance.

He is a leading expert on digital money, the law of bank payments and blockchain technology. He sits on the Bank of England Financial Markets Law Committee on Virtual Currencies.

He is a Leading Individual in the Legal 500: "clients praise the 'technically excellent' Charlie Kerrigan", "insightful, clever and well-connected".

Charlie will be looking at the legal challenges around ICOs and why The City is increasingly looking at Cryptocurrencies.

Sam Robinson

Sam is a partner in the Financial Services Regulatory practice.
Sam advises clients include banks, asset management firms, broker dealers, payment institutions and corporate finance houses on a broad range of regulatory and compliance matters within the financial services sector. Prior to working in private practice, Sam worked for seven years at the UK financial services regulator, the Financial Services Authority (the majority of this time in the FSA’s General Counsel’s Division), and has also spent time on secondment at Santander Asset Management UK Limited.
Recent work includes advising on whether certain activities require FCA authorisation, establishing crowdfunding platforms and robo-managers, establishing on-line investment exchanges, advising on the regulation if crypto currencies, advising on initial coin offerings, the structuring of fund vehicles (including regulated and unregulated funds), financial promotion issues, conduct of business requirements, acquisitions of FCA-authorised firms, drafting terms of business for investment firms and payment service providers as well as providing consumer credit advice.

Sam will be discussing How security tokens on regulated Crypto exchanges will help institutions to embrace this new asset class.

Michael Hirn

Michael is launching Rlay ICO. Before founding Spread Michael was working at the intersections of Venture Capital, OSS, and Machine Learning. He is currently living in Berlin and New York. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his spouse, reading, and following contemporary culture.

Jonny has over 25 years’ experience as CEO of an asset management business which he floated in London. His focus has been on the dynamics of financial innovation, advising on ICOs, Tokenomics, Crypto funds.

He has extensive knowledge and experience of the financial services sector, looking after private clients and institution’s assets, managing funds in the UK and globally.
He has been CEO and on the board of a variety of regulated and unregulated companies in the U.K. and internationally, in a number of different industries.

Alastair Band
Was an early(ish) adopter of cryptocurrency and co-founder of one of the fastest growing Meetup groups globally, London Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Beginners, in August 2017. It was through that he met Sweetbridge founder Scott Nelson and was hooked on Scott's vision and the far reaching potential of Sweetbridge. As a serial networker, with a mind for finding real world applications of emerging technology, Alastair joined full time in January of this year to help them build their communities and assist with running the events program globally.
