“Why is it so hard to find Quality and Affordable Contractors in this Market?”: A panel discussion on Navigating, Staying on Budget and Working on Your Timeline with Real Estate Contractors.
In July, join ICOR as we tackle one of the biggest challenges that real estate investors are dealing with…finding contractors that can produce quality work, on time, and on a budget!
…is MONEY your issue?....Good contractors are professionals and charge accordingly. New to the business of buying and reselling, you might be focused on $$$$ signs and want a job done well, fast and cheap. The sweetness of low price is soon forgotten, but the bitterness of poor quality lasts a long time.
…is TIME your issue?... We’ve often heard that poor planning on your part does not an emergency on my part make. We’re often fighting the clock to keep a project on timeline and budget. Understanding that the best contractors are going to be in high demand, so know that you may be giving up quality to get it done on time using a substandard contractor.
…is QUALITY your issue?... A hot market is often flooded with those contractors who are opportunistic and may not be truly skilled or have the experience necessary to provide the quality you are looking for on a project.
As the saying goes, "you can pick 2, but you will never get all 3.”
There are great contractors who put out a quality product and are on time, but you will pay for it.
If you pay bottom dollar pricing, you MIGHT get a good product, but the contractor will use you as "fill work."
The worst case scenario is if you find a contractor who is always on time, charges you a ton but makes a poor product.
Time is specific, but of course, quality and good price are subjective. So the above rule needs to be applied to each person’s standards.
Join us as we invite a panel including a General Contractor, Sub Contractor, and Investor-Landlord as we have a discussion to help you navigate not only this hot market but also establish trust and better long-lasting relationships with your contracting team.
