IEEE Charlotte members are welcome to join the PELS seminar organized by IEEE PELS Raleigh chapter. Please make sure to register the IEEE vTool link below. Please note this IEEE vTool registration is NOT the Meetup registration link.

The local Raleigh chapter of IEEE PELS is sponsoring another technical event presented by Prof. Chow from NC State.
Link to register is https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/235599

This will be an online presentation which you must register for in order to receive the online link to connect to the meeting. This link will be emailed to registered participants within one hour before the start time. You do not have to be an IEEE member or a PELS member to join us, everyone is welcome!

Abstract
Microgrids are widely envisioned to be the building block for the future smart grid, for its autonomy, distributed energy resources hosting capability, enhancements in reliability and resilience, etc. Smart inverters, as one of the enabling technologies, play an essential role in interfacing the microgrid components and enabling stable microgrid operation. This presentation dissects the smart inverter control hierarchies, i.e. primary, secondary, and tertiary, and provides a close-up look at the distributed tertiary control layer. This presentation will also highlight two of the fundamental technologies: Collaborative Distributed Energy Management System (CoDEMS) and Cybersecurity framework of the CoDEMS that are currently developed at ADAC lab.
