IT Dev Café: How will we move from the core to the Cloud?

Technology is becoming more and more important in our daily lives. People, companies… Everyone is being treated with new features and different ways to access our personal data. Phones are becoming the second most important thing in life. The one thing that is more important? Our vital needs.

Moving from the core to the Cloud
To keep up with the fast pace of life, it becomes more and more important to access our stored data whenever and wherever. No one wants to carry around a digital hard drive anymore… For developers, Microsoft Azure gives them a wide range of possibilities to create the solution people and businesses are craving.

To make sure we can access our data, solutions should work seamlessly with various devices and operating systems. ASP.NET core will provide many new possibilities to build and run cross-platform ASP.NET apps on Windows, Mac and Linux OS’s. This new tooling will simplify modern web development, besides that .NET core is open source and community focused. Will Java just be an island in the near future? Who knows…

About the speaker: Chris den Arend
Chris den Arend works for Sogeti as a software architect, he is specialized in Internet of Things and the Cloud. He states that most companies will face a digital transformation. The drivers behind this transformation are digital building blocks like Internet of Things, Mobile and Cloud. In this session it’s all about the Cloud. After the session you’ll know how innovative solutions are built in the Microsoft Cloud, and what kind of skills you need to be an innovative Cloud developer.

About the speaker: Danny van der Kraan

Danny van der Kraan is a software developer specialised in ASP.NET Core. When we asked Danny about the current developments he said:“ASP.NET Core has been completely rewritten. It is fundamentally cross platform, mean, lean and open sourced! At Sound of Data we have a couple of months’ worth of experience on ASP.NET Core.” During his presentation he will give an in depth view of the fundamentals.

IT Dev Café | See you there!
This next IT Dev Café is December 1st. The event starts at 6:30 PM, the first speaker will start his presentation at 7:00 PM.

Once a month Spilberg opens the IT Dev Café for everyone that is willing to listen and discuss different IT development topics. As always, we take care of the location, speakers, pizza and beer (of course we also have soda). The only thing you have to bring is a good question to feed the debate.

Do you have a question about this meetup, or do you have a great idea for a future meetup? Send us an e-mail at [masked]. We would love to hear from you.
