Globalizing Ideas

Thanks to our growing community, we can debate big ideas with people all over the world... Simultaneously!!

https://ideas-exchange.info/en/

Join our global community of minds and share with people in different countries and from all backgrounds thorough our weekly online debates. Imagine debating with people in 10 different countries at the same time... How awesome is that?

This is a safe, inclusive and respectful space designed to talk to other humans, learn from one another and implement our ideas, in all relevant aspects of life.
We will discuss both “big” and “small” ideas, talking about the past, present, and future, the ideal world and our everyday reality.

Each Meetup will have a main focus subject, with a wide margin to explore other interesting topics.

Our main rule:

“I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Some subjects we’ll explore:

• Human wellbeing and psychology
• Relationships and family
• Society, economics and politics
• Lifestyles, cultures and languages
• Technology and futurism
• Philosophy, religions and ideologies
• The “why” and “what for” of life

And many more, that we’ll decide on together…

Welcome to the global community of Ideas Exchange!

What happens when childhood unfolds through a screen?
Smartphones have become children's playgrounds, classrooms, diaries and social lifelines. They help young people learn, create, navigate the world and stay connected. Yet they also open the door to addictive design, constant comparison, cyberbullying and content that no previous generation had to confront so early.
Would delaying smartphones and social media until 16 protect children's attention, sleep and mental health? Or would it isolate them from their friends, limit their independence and leave them unprepared for a digital world they will inevitably enter? And is the real problem the phone itself, the platforms built to keep us scrolling—or the way adults have allowed technology to reshape childhood?
In this discussion, we'll examine digital childhood from psychological, social, educational and ethical perspectives—and ask where protection should end, autonomy should begin and responsibility should ultimately lie.
Key Topics We Will Talk About

    • What exactly should wait until 16: smartphones, social media or unrestricted algorithmic feeds?
    • Are screens damaging attention, sleep and mental health—or reflecting wider problems?
    • Connection and creativity versus comparison, cyberbullying and compulsive use
    • Is a child without social media protected—or socially excluded?
    • Parents, schools, governments or Big Tech: who is responsible?
    • Is 16 a meaningful boundary—or an arbitrary one?
    • Age verification, parental monitoring and the price of online privacy
    • Bans, safer design or digital literacy: what would a healthy digital childhood look like?

Join us for an open, thoughtful conversation about what children need in order to grow up connected, capable and free—without surrendering their childhood to the screen.
