What we’re about
Thanks to the growing community, we can debate big ideas with people all over the world... Simultaneously!!
Join our global community of minds and share with people in different countries and from all backgrounds thorough our weekly online debates. Imagine debating with people in 10 different countries at the same time... How awesome is that?
This is a safe, inclusive and respectful space designed to talk to other humans, learn from one another and implement our ideas, in all relevant aspects of life.
We will discuss both “big” and “small” ideas, talking about the past, present, and future, the ideal world and our everyday reality.
Each Meetup will have a main focus subject, with a wide margin to explore other interesting topics.
Our main rule:
“I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
Some subjects we’ll explore:
Human wellbeing and psychology Relationships and family Society, economics and politics Lifestyles, cultures and languages Technology and futurism Philosophy, religions and ideologies The “why” and “what for” of life
And many more, that we’ll decide on together…

Across the globe, wealth has concentrated at levels unseen since the Gilded Age. Billionaires shape markets, influence elections, and even decide the terms of our public debates — while millions struggle to keep up with rising costs, stagnant wages, and vanishing social mobility. The gap between those who govern the system and those who live within it is widening into a chasm.
Some see this as the natural evolution of capitalism — innovation rewarded, success deserved. Others warn that democracy itself is being hollowed out: when wealth can buy access, rewrite laws, and escape accountability, can the ideal of equal citizenship survive?
At the same time, the ultra-rich are increasingly detached from ordinary life. Private islands, space tourism, and offshore wealth point to a new kind of aristocracy — one that no longer depends on public approval. What happens to society when those with the most power have the least in common with everyone else?
In this conversation, we will explore:
· The mechanics of modern inequality — how wealth multiplies at the top.
· How the ultra-rich shape politics, policy, and public opinion.
· The social and psychological distance between elites and citizens.
· The moral narratives that justify excess and obscure responsibility.
· The impact of extreme inequality on democracy, trust, and cohesion.
· Whether reform, resistance, or reinvention can restore balance.
This is not a lecture but an open dialogue — an invitation to question who really rules our world, and what it would take to bridge the growing divide between the elite few and the forgotten many.

Going to Mars: Should We Fix Earth First?
OnlineWelcome to this fascinating global debate… held simultaneously!
Join participants from cities the world over… don’t miss out!
https://ideas-exchange.info/en/online-debate/going-to-mars-should-we-fix-earth-first/
You can book your space in a few easy steps.
Why are we so eager to leave the planet that gave us life? From billion-dollar rockets to talk of colonizing Mars, space exploration has once again captured the world’s imagination. Yet beneath the excitement lies a harder question: should humanity look upward to the stars, or inward to the problems we’ve created at home?
As climate change accelerates, inequality widens, and political systems strain, critics argue that Mars dreams are an extravagant distraction. Supporters counter that exploration fuels innovation, unity, and the very hope we need to solve Earth’s crises. Between these visions lies a profound tension — between curiosity and responsibility, progress and preservation, ambition and humility.
Are we investing in our future—or trying to escape our present? What does our fascination with Mars reveal about human nature, and what might it cost us to chase that red horizon?
We’ll gather, coffee or tea in hand, to share perspectives and challenge assumptions about space, technology, and what it means to be stewards of both Earth and imagination.
Some subjects we’ll touch on:
· The moral trade-off: exploration vs. Obligation
· Space technology’s benefits to life on Earth
· The billionaire space race: ego, innovation, or both?
· Environmental footprints—rockets, resources, and responsibility
· The psychology of exploration: curiosity, escapism, and meaning
· Mars as myth: what it symbolizes in human culture
· Rethinking “progress”: can we thrive on Earth while reaching for the stars?
By the end of our conversation, we’ll have explored whether going to Mars represents humanity’s greatest leap forward—or a warning that we’ve lost sight of home.
